The team leader and group leaders are professional educators with experiences varying from University Directors of English Graduate Programs through Administrators of Testing and Placement Programs with Educational Testing Service.

All readers are selected for their credentials as professionals with a minimum of a 4-year degree and will participate in both training and qualifying. Prior to handscoring any essays, our team must

1. become familiar with population of responses;
2. prepare annotated range finder responses;
3. prepare training and qualifying batches of prescored samples;
4. determine the criterion for "coded" assessments (fragments, off topics, etc.); and
5. customize the scoring guide for each individual Constructed Response test item.
